Internet <> TV

Is the Internet the fifth major TV network? | last100

Umm.. unless you use BitTorrent, this is not case. Youtube is 10% decent stuff, the other 90% is garbage or even worse spam.

BitTorrent on the other hand rules when it comes to TV especially if you have a way to watch whatever you have on you HDTV (I highly reccomend Media Portal, free and highly extendable). I currently can take my laptop and put in into my HDTV via VGA and watch whatever I have. The networks (and I mean all of them, not just the big 3, I am talking cartoon network though the DIY network) should allow their shows to be torrented and watched truly onm demand. My feeling is that the overhead has already been covered by the broadcast, put some advertising around the torrent (30-60 seconds max.. ) and let the users have at it. This is not going to go away, so the more coprorate people embrace it, the better. Joost has potential, but I find the interface pretty confusing, and I am sorry the content is not there for me yet.
